This Monday

by Laura on October 8, 2012

This Monday morning, may your roots go down deep and may your own soul be fed first. May you walk into your day, into your new week, with hope and wild expectation.

May you wake up today, and then stay that way. Alive  to what’s really going on around you, to the preciousness of a moment, to the whispers of Spirit. Wake to the bigness of the Story you’ve landed in.

And may beauty catch your breath, a relationship speak life, and Kingdom come a little closer,

even on a Monday.

My prayer for you. For me. Today.

Specifically, anything big going on in your week we can pray about for you? Am I the only one that struggles Monday mornings?

What a sweet prayer to pray over your readers. Thank you. I am totally embracing that on a rainy Monday morning in which I struggled to get my butt out of bed!
Would love your prayers for a meeting I have on Friday with a woman who has started and maintained a homeless ministry in a town close to ours. God has been stirring in my heart for months and my prayer has been “Lord, show me who the poor/needy are in my town and help me to love them.” All I do is go to church with church people and meet my lovely but rich neighbors and rarely am I bumping up against the marginalized which I’m longing to do. We are relatively new to this town and so I’m still learning about our community. Anyways, you could pray for me to listen wide open to what God is doing in other parts of our town but with wisdom listen to His voice regarding what He’s calling me/our church to and not get all hyper ministry girl and come back on Friday ready to start a ministry that mimicks another one just because I’m excited about it. But to truly be led by the Spirit of God.

Melody, I love your honest heart and your desire to pursue the poor. This is beautiful and WILL be honored by the God who loves the poor like crazy. I will pray for wisdom and passion and CLARITY.

Stop by and let us know how it goes . . .

Believing in the God in you,

      Laura

I seem to try to get a jump-start on the beginning-of-the-week struggle and have in on Sunday evenings thinking about the current I’ll get swept up in the next morning :) Loved this post–if I were one of those “make these beautiful words into a downloadable, beautiful pdf” kind of girl, that’s what I would do. Alas, I’m not that girl. I’ll just have to revisit your blog and read it again and again!

You are so awesome – – totally get the thinking ahead and mind-racing thing.

And, also, you make me laugh.

      Love you, friend. L
