In honor of Kelty’s seventh birthday, my mom and I took her out for a fun salad dinner, a little shopping, and our first exposure to the ever-popular fish-spa therapy here in Chiang Mai. Essentially, you pay money to stick your perfectly-healthy feet into a tank to let hundreds of fish nibble at your toes. It’s supposed to exfoliate your skin (the ped-egg hasn’t made it to this part of the world yet). For something that is designed to be as relaxing as a massage, I haven’t laughed so hard (or been so freaked out) by anything for a long time. Check it out . . .
You can visit here to watch another video of my mom’s first toe-in-the-water or here to see more of Kelty’s experience. {I couldn’t figure out how to post more than one video at a time. }

That was hilarious!!! Glad you didn’t show fear to your daughter at all….what a fun memory!!! I would have been SOOOO freaked out, too!
Hi Laura,
I was moved enough by your comment on Anne Jackson’s latest blog so that I read it aloud to my family.
We understand. We, too, are “wanting to start” – and have taken a step of faith that way. But, so far, nothing’s moving.
Each night, during our family prayers, we have a list of people we pray for. We’ll add your family.
God bless you, the Ahlstroms
PS – we don’t have a blog, just a web site, but you’re welcome to look at it if you wish.
what a crazy experience! glad you tried it at least once =]
Hi Laura and family,
Saw your comment on Anne Jackson’s blog, looked at your site, and tried sending you a comment yesterday. It doesn’t look like it “took,” so will try again. This is pretty much just a repeat.
At least in part, right now we appreciate how you guys feel. (No one can fully.)
We do have family prayer every night, including a good list of friends. We did include you all in that last night, and will continue to.
God bless your ministry there, and may it steadily grow – however discouraging things may look for now.
The Ahlstrom family
Wow, thanks so much. I feel honored that you would be praying for my family with yours. What a gift that truly is. Thank you Pete, for taking the time to encourage over the web and pray on behalf of a stranger.
I wish your family all the best in Him,
Laura
Hi Laura,
I just wanted to thank you for the comment you left on my post at High Calling Blogs. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to come by for a visit — crazy week! And today we are leaving for a road trip, so I can’t spend as much time here as I would like. I’ll have to come back — you have so much to share, and I am intrigued by your blog and your thoughts!
And the fish-pedi…cool!
