The Power of Education

Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army. -edward everett

Matt got the opportunity today to be a small part of a new path in a young woman’s life.  He didn’t introduce her to the man she will marry, and he didn’t get her a dream job.  But he did help enroll her in college.  Technical college for a degree in computers.  Education is this part of the world, for girls with little resources, is a lifeline that can’t afford to be missed.  So many people before us have poured into this beautiful young lady–staff and sponsors and visitors on missions trips.  And today, she was able to take another step into a more hopeful future.  She’ll be living in an on-campus dorm room with another former Breanna’s girl, and we will hopefully be able to mentor both young ladies once a week.  What a gift.  For us to watch and most definitely for her to live.
